Let me get this out of the way. OMG! Ok, I am all better now. Not only is this Shelby supercar fantastic looking, it's green as well. This beast of an electric vehicle makes the Tesla Roadster look like a Yugo. If Shelby (not the Shelby famous for Mustangs) can deliver on his promises this will be a revolutionary electric vehicle.

The car is called the Shelby supercars Aero EV and aims to grab the title of world's fastest electric vehicle. Ol' Shel claims the beast can scoot from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 208 MPH.

The most interesting part is that the car is powered by electricity, no gasoline is burned. The vehicle has 1,000 HP thanks to its electric drive train and 800 lb-ft of torque. Shelby also claims that the vehicle can recharge its batteries in only ten minutes from a 220V outlet and drive 150 to 220 miles on a full charge. The car is expected to enter production in June with deliveries in Q4 2009.
