One in Ten Internet Users owns a Netbook

Shopping site Pricegrabber.com has announced the results of a report called the Netbook Trends and Solid-State Technology Forecast. According to Pricegrabber, some of the best selling computers are netbooks, which it classifies as systems will screens under 11-inches and costing less than $500.
According to the survey conducted for the report, one in 10 Internet users owns a netbook. The average price for the top netbooks on its site is $379 and the top netbook is the Acer Aspire One, which was the most popular netbook available according to outside sources.
Pricegrabber goes on to say that 48% of the top 25 products in the laptop category are netbooks with the Aspire One taking second overall right behind the 13.3-inch MacBook. According to the survey netbook owners are spread across all age groups with the highest percentage of ownership among those 45 to 54 years old with the 35 to 44 age group a close second. According to the survey, 43% of respondents would buy a netbook with a SSD if prices drop considerably.
