Today is finally Sunday and Super Bowl 2009 game will start 6 p.m. (EST). NBC of course already starts their Super Bowl XLIII coverage already at noon (EST).
As reported before this Super Bowl is for geeks as it features cool stuff like 3D Commercials, Sci-fi movie ads and fun animated commercials.
NBC published a nice report that explains the making of the 3D Super Bowl Ads and also features some sequences of the Monsters vs. Aliens and SoBe commercial in 3D.
You can recognize if the broadcasted footage is in 3D by the yellowish glow around things. The 3D glasses distributed for Super Bowl use the new ColorCode technology which uses Amber and Blue filters instead of the old anaglyphic red and cyan filters.
The biggest difference is that viewers who do not wear glasses do not get bleeding eyes watching.
If you have your 3D Super Bowl Glasses already, then put them on and watch the NBC 3D Super Bowl Report below.
Breaking sports news video. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL highlights and more.
Super Bowl 2009 will be happening on Sunday February 1st. This Super Bowl is a treat for geeks that is why we will cover it even more than in 2008. Despite the recession a 30 second of a Super Bowl Ad cost about $3m and there should be again lots of must see Commercials. There will be for instance the first 3D Super Bowl Ads and lots of Super Bowl Ads featuring new 2009 Sci-fi Movies including the new Star Trek and the next Transformers movie.
