A rumor has sprung up that Sony will be making a big global announcement about the Sony PS3. We are possibly looking at a major price cut for the PS3 - finally. Update: Big PS3 announcement turned into big Sony PS2 Price-cut announcement.

What else could Sony announce that would be big? Of course it would be great if Sony has an unknown ace up its sleeve to take the Sony PS3 back to the front and fend off the Xbox 360.
The rumor has sprung up from Smarthouse, an Australian tech site. The Sony news would hit the Aussies on April 1st, which could mean that there is no announcement. We will keep our eyes open. Eventually Sony needs to act in regards to the PS3.
