Yes, you heard that right. Samsung's just announced their fourth and fifth mobile phones of the day. The Samsung Omnia II and OmniaLITE have both been confirmed. Samsung is obviously trying to reassert themselves as an industry leader, and releasing a storm of brand new smartphones is a fine way to start.
The Omnia II has a huge 3.7” AMOLED screen, TouchWiz 2.0 UI, Advanced Resistive Touch, and 7.2 Mbps HSDPA. It can hold up to 48 GB, which will help with its 480p video playback and recording. It's also WiFi capable, and also has HSUPA 5.76 Mbps.
The OmniaLITE has TouchWiz 2.0, a 3D multimedia player, multi-push email access, and access to the Microsoft Office Suite. It's got HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, plus an integral Opera Browser. A 3 megapixel camera and A-GPS completes the package.
The Omnia II is definitely the heavy hitter of the pair. I'd bet on it sitting on the upper end of the price scale, and Samsung will probably market it as a high-end multimedia smartphone. The OmniaLITE looks like a much more practical (and somewhat less awesome) business smartphone. I'd bet on it being cheaper than the Omnia II, although we don't have price info on either phone yet.
