A couple of days ago we heard some rumors that the mystery indestructible Nokia phone was, in fact, the upcoming 3720 classic. Today that rumor has been confirmed, and we now know for a fact that the 3720 will be capable of surviving a two story fall. That's good news for all of you roof repairmen out there, and somewhat less exciting news for those of us who don't routinely stand on ladders.
Still, the 3720 is a neat-looking little mobile with an 1P54 certification against water, dust, and shock damage. It has an integral LED flashlight, a 2 megapixel camera, a microSD slot with a 1 GB chip included, and a battery capable of close to three weeks on standby. Sure, it's yet another dumbphone, but that doesn't stop it from being nifty. And potentially useful, if you live a rough-and-tumble life and treat your mobile phone like crap.
We don't have an exact date yet, but the 3720 should hit “later this summer”. It'll cost $174.
