Last week we saw some leaked images and learned a few details about the PRS-300 and 600. The two devices are Sony's new E-Readers, designed to act as budget competition for the Amazon Kindle 2 and Kindle DX. Now Boy Genius has information on the pricing and specifications for these two bad boys.
The main difference between the PRS-300 and 600 is that the 600 packs a slightly larger screen (6” instead of 5”) and has an SD slot and audio output. The 600 will cost $300, while the 300 will go for just $200, making it the cheapest E-Reader on the market. Neither of these machines are very powerful, but the 300 looks perfect as a budget reader. It's extremely portable and cheap enough to be an impulse purchase.
