iTunes version nine is going to hit soon, and thanks to the folks at Boy Genius we have some details on just what that might entail. First and most interesting on the list is Blu-ray support. Apple's working to integrate Blu-ray into their next generation of iMacs, so this fits perfectly.

This new version of iTunes should also come with the ability to organize your iPhone or iPod touch apps on your screen. There's also been talk of increased Twitter/Facebook/Last.fm integration. Just what form this integration will take is still up in the air. We still don't have an expected release date for iTunes 9, but Boy Genius thinks September. That sounds reasonable, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if Apple launches 9 alongside their next generation of iPods.
