Nokia World 2009 is here, and that means a whole swathe of new info about upcoming products from the world's leading smartphone manufacturer. The biggest news today has to do with the upcoming Nokia Booklet 3G netbook. We first heard about the Booklet last week but now we have the full specifications of this $817 machine. (via Nokia)

First off, the Booklet packs a massive 16 cell Li-Ion prismatic, removable battery. This makes it capable of 12 hours of actual solid use before needing a recharge. It's got a 10.1" display, a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, and 1 GB of DDR2 RAM. The booklet comes with a 120 GB hard drive, an inbuilt 3G modem (WCDMA 850/1900/2100 and 900/2100 variants available), and a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

That's not all, though. This netbook has a SIM card, and it packs a few other features you'd normally expect to find in a smartphone. It's got an accelerometer and AGPS, plus a social hub that keeps your social software feeds together and can also send SMS messages. It also has Ovi Suite 2.0, for all your calendar/media syncing needs.

Altogether, the Booklet looks like one of the hottest gadgets we've seen in awhile. It's capable of handling a tough workload without losing charge, and it has good enough hardware to offer a high level of performance. If only this netbook handled bluetooth, so you could actually use it to act as your mobile phone.

At $817 the Booklet looks like a pricey buy. I can see a lot of businesses replacing their old work laptops with this, but I'm not sure how much love this device will find among independent consumers. What do you think of the Booklet? Is it a 'must have' for you, or something you can pass on without batting an eyelash? Let us know in the comments.
