Finding a personal media player that can output full 1080p HD is about as easy as finding a portable keyboard that doesn't suck. If Engadget is right, Telcast, a Chinese firm, may be one of the first. Their T56 PMP has a nice, big 5" screen, 1080p output from an HDMI port, and an 800 x 600 resolution.
We don't know this thing's hardware specs, or how much space it will pack. It will include a GPS and an FM tuner, as well as an SD slot and a unibody-style all-metal stamped body. This thing looks as tough as a rock.
If Telcast can bring out a 1080p outputting player with solid specs and a good amount of space (32 GB at least) that's damn near indestructible to boot, they might have a hit on their hands. We haven't heard anything about price or availability yet, though, but this T56 is something to keep an eye out for.
