Best Buy is bringing the iRex DR800SG to compete with the Amazon Kindle and Sony Readers according to the NY Times.
iRex is a Philips spin-off and we reported about iRex eBook readers already back in 2008 (photo). As reported in 2005 iRex makes their own ePaper. The company made some waves with the Philips Readius roll-up Phone.
The iRex DR800SG eReader has an 8.1 inch display and can connect to Barnes & Noble e-bookstore and to NewspaperDirect via Verizon 3G Network.
Best Buy is supposed to sell the iRex DR800SG for $399. Update: IREX DR800SG eReader Official.
At 6 inches the Kindle has a much smaller display, but sells for $100 less.
