Symantec Security Response
A new mobile phone software virus started spreading this week via mobile messages containing photos and sounds.
Other mobile viruses only spread via software or bluetooth. This one can target any Symbian mobile phone anywhere.
Commwarrior.A replicates by sending random named multimedia messages (MMS) to contacts on the infected phone to mobile phones running Symbian Series 60 OS. Nokia says they are ready to protect against viruses. It would be great if they at the same time stop carriers sending SMS to me while traveling and I am entering their service area.
