A couple days ago a story about MIT students building their own USB controlled LED Disco Dance Floor appeared. If you do not want to spend your free time connecting 1,536 LEDs there is actually a company selling those things.
Lightspace Corp. sells for instance illuminated interactive graphic display system that are either connected to a sound or lighting system. They also offer pressure sensitive displays to let people interact with the displays. The Lightspace product is a patent pending commercially tested tile system that is waterproof and UL approved. It can support up to 3000lbs of pressure per tile and it made out of UL94 rated Polycarbonate. It comes with a control station that can handle the calculations needed to display interactive games, visual, interactive and sync effects, as well as video and animation. The Lightspace Software allows to control all aspects of the floor: create playlists, set parameters to all the effects, sync to music, handle diagnostics, and create effects on the fly. It supports many types of media including avi, jpg, png, gif, and mpg. All formats can be manipulated to sync to music and be placed into playlists so that the system runs on it’s own. More details on the LightSpace site. |
