Blogs inside Video Games

The MIT Technology Review runs a story with the headline: Videogames and Blogs: The Disconnect.
The article makes the initial claim that there are not enough blogs about Video games out there in the wild. Well I totally
disagree with that. There are tons and tons of sites and blogs reporting about Video games every day around the globe. Alone the number of new blogs that have been showing up since the US launch of Sony PSP is huge. Even we have a dedicated Video game site.
Anyway more interesting is the main focus of the article that analyses to possibility to integrate blogging directly into the games. A Forrester Research Analyst is quoted in the article saying that the Xbox will be the first major platform to integrate personal blogging.
More details on the MIT Technology Review.
That the MIT Technology Review is even writing about this is just another indicator for me how over hyped blogging really is. A nice reality check article about the overblown blog mania is in an article on the New York Times about Nick Denton's Gawker Media (Gawker, Gizmodo, Fleshbot, etc.). By the way, even if we publish news everyday, also sometimes with a personal point of view, I do not consider I4U a blog. I see I4U as a Technology Life Style Magazine and Shopping Guide. We have a couple blogs in our network of sites like Gear Live.
