Haier and Freescale Semiconductor are introducing the world's first Ultra-Wideband (UWB) enabled LCD HDTV.

Freescale's UWB technology is can transfer multiple high-definition (HD) or MPEG2 movie streams (max. 110Mbps) over distances of up to 20 meters. This enables consumers to place the DVD player and Media Server away from the TV.
There are wireless TVs (e.g. Sony KLV-20WS2) on the market, but they do not have the bandwidth to work with HDTV.
The Haier wireless LCD HDTV has a 37" panel with 1080i resolution.

The Haier HDTV comes with a digital media server with personal video player (PVR) functionality, a DVD playback capability and a tuner, as well as the Freescale UWB solution to wirelessly stream media to the HDTV. The rest of the world has to wait until 2006.
Sad thing is that this interesting HDTV is only sold in China for now.
