E Ink, the electronic paper display (EPD) technology provider is now offering a Electronic Paper Prototype Kit.

The E Ink AM-100 Electronic Paper Prototype Kit includes a 6 inch, 170 PPI graphical electronic paper (SVGA 800x600) and a Linux OS running Gumstix single-board computer, which combines a 400 MHz Intel XScale PXA255 processor with a Bluetooth transceiver, USB, a serial port and an MMC card reader.
the e-Paper kit also includes two Li-ion batteries with a total capacity of over 4000 mW-h, and an integrated battery charger. Kits will begin shipping on November 1, 2005.
More details in this E Ink press-release and on the E Ink Electronic Paper Kit page.

Products using E Ink's high-resolution display technology were first launched in April 2004 by SONY Corporation in its LIBRIé electronic book device, available in Japan. In addition to SONY, Seiko, Citizen and Microsoft have used E Ink's EPD technology in innovative applications.

Unless e-Paper is getting to be bendable or better foldable it is not really a killer-app. Fujitsu has shown in July a flexible color e-paper.
