ASENDRO Robots Secure Soccer World Cup in Germany

German companies Robowatch and Diehl BGT Defence have introduced the ASENDRO modular reconnaissance and defusing robot and said that ASENDRO robots are on duty at the FIFA 2006 Soccer World Cup in Germany.
The ASENDRO robot is capable of detecting persons and NBC weapons and climbing stairs.
With its gripper arm the robot can examine suspicious objects and defuse them. ASENDRO is of course not autonomous - it is control wirelessly via a Laptop.
During the Worldcup at the Berlin Olympic stadium apparently 20 security robots of various kind will be on duty including the Robowatch
