Toshiba HD-A1 HD DVD Players have appeared at Best Buy and other stores throughout the United States.
The first HD DVD movies have been spotted. One of them is for instance Serenity which is also available for order now on Amazon.com for $24.49. The Last Samurai sells for $19.98.
The availability of the Toshiba HD-A1 is still spotty and I did not find an online store that has it in stock. The Man Room (via Engadget) already published a review of the HD-A1. There verdict is basically to wait unless you have money to gamble on unproven gadgets. Also if you have money you still want to wait at least for the higher end Toshiba HD-XA1.
If you have already bought a HD DVD Player please email me how much better it is than standard DVD.
The list of available HD DVD movies is still short. Here are the HD DVDs currently available. They have different shipping dates.
