Sony revealed the final design of the Sony PS3 controller and is going 'retro' on us.
The strange banana shaped PS3 controller has disappeared and Sony decided to make the PS3 controller look like the good old Sony PS2 controller.
The inside of the controller is new as it features a 6 axis motion control. It is wireless, but features a USB plug to go wired if you want to.
The new PS3 controller actually has no rumble feature. Sony says this would interfere with the 3D motion sensors. But wasn't there a patent lawsuit about this feature?
So Sony went the save route and gave Sony gamers the controller they are used to since years.
More details in this Sony press-release (Japanese) and in the US press-release.
