I4U already reported about Pioneer not launching their Blu-ray disc player in June two weeks ago. Now it is official. Reuters just published a brief message saying that Pioneer will launch its BDP-HD1 in autumn.
Pioneer's official reason for the postponed Blur-ray player launch is a delay in the development process.
As reported, not even Sony is launching their Blu-ray Disc player in June.
Meanwhile Sony announced four new Blu-ray movies to be released mid-August including Black Hawk Down.
These delays give Toshiba's HD DVD more time on the market. Toshiba is already fixing some issues with their HD DVD players with a firmware update.
