More Portable Devices News
For all those people who've dreamed of a handheld body fat monitor, Samsung's working on a device that will make your dreams come true. They recently filed a U.S. patent for the device, which simply requires you to put each of your thumbs and one finger from each hand on built-in sensors.
It then sends an electrical current through your body, which is able to measure how much fat there is because of the amount of resistance, mainly via water, since fat contains less of the electrical-resistant water than muscle.
There are actually other devices that can measure your body fat, like the deceivingly cute Japanese robots. Think anyone in the US would want one of these? I think our only use for this gizmo would be for people to have contests to see who can reach 100% body fat first.
