Since we're all getting incredibly sick of release date rumors, there's a new one that's making its way around the blogosphere, and it's that Nintendo has been sneakily showing us pictures and footage of Wii games that are under-utilizing the Wii's power, supposedly because they want to totally surprise us when they reveal the actual graphical capabilities of the system.

This comes from a French gaming blog who apparently has an insider at Nintendo who leaked the info to him. The actual quote is that the whole deceiving ploy "is to create an element of surprise for the press during Nintendo's next media event." Nintendo's next press event will be on New York City in about two weeks. We'll see if there's actually any validity to this at that time.
