The WSJ (Subscription) just released a story saying that Google is closing in on the YouTube acquisition and that an announcement could come as early as today after the market closes.
Google would pay $1.65 billion in stock for YouTube reports the WSJ. Apparently the WSJ tries to be in the lead again in this matter, as they did not break this rumor first last week and had to quote a blog.
Reuters carries a story that CBS and YouTube have agreed to a content and advertising partnership. CBS will provide short videos from the news, sports and entertainment field.
Vivendi Universal also announced a YouTube content deal. They will provide music related video content to YouTube. More details on Reuters.
These content deals support the Google acquisition rumors as YouTube becomes more attractive.
The Google YouTube rumor got hot last week.
