Japanese newspaper reports that Sony has to reduce the number of Sony PS3 consoles the company ships in Japan from 100,000 to 80,000 units.
Apparently the new reduction is due to parts availability. It is possibly the same shortage that already caused the cancellation of the Sony PS3 in Europe.
There is no official statement from Sony yet about the adjusted number of available Sony PS3 consoles in Japan. Also not known yet is if there will be an adjustment in availability in the US.
For Japanese PS3 fans it is a good thing that Lik-Sang and Play-Asia do not export Sony PS3 consoles. It will be tough enough for them to score a Sony Playstation 3. The Sony PS3 launches on November 11th in Japan.
