Sony is in the lead again with a super thin 5 Mega Pixel digital camera wonder.
Announced (raw translation) (US Press-Release) today in Japan the Sony Cybershot DSC-T1. The 5MP camera features a 2.5"!! LCD screen and it has a unique 3x optical zoom lens that does not extend outside the case. The lens also allows to take super close-up (magnifying glass mode) photos.
The DSC-T1 uses a new thin lithium type battery.
The measurements are 91x60x21mm and on its thinnest part the camera is 17.3mm. It weighs 155g. Compared to the Canon IXOS, which features 4MP (90.3x47x18.5mm) the Sony DSC-T1 is bigger but offers 5MP and the huge 2.5" Display.
It is save to say that the Sony DSC-T1 is the smallest 5MP Digital Camera in the world for now.
The Sony Cybershot DSC-T1 will go on sale November 21st in Japan.
In US the Cyber-shot T1 camera will be available in January for about $550.
