Nintendo Wii Straps Get Thicker Again

Not too long ago we talked about Nintendo making its Wii thicker so HDTV owners could play with less fear of killing their beloved TVs. Now word is trickling in that Nintendo may be having a third party ship some of the straps.
You can see in the image above that some of the Wii straps lack the Nintendo logo and are shaped differently. This is perhaps an attempt to save some coin on the costs of replacing the straps and to relieve some of the burden from Nintendo.
The new straps are not as cool looking as the real Nintendo versions, but come on it’s a frickin’ strap. It’s not like Nintendo is sending out off brand copies branded as Wee. It continues to give me the chuckles that the worst part of the Nintendo Wii is a wrist strap. Story and image via Engadget.
