We reported about the cool Meccano Spyke robot when it debuted at the CES earlier this year.

The Wi-fi enabled robot comes with a video camera, a microphone, a loudspeaker, MP3 player and 2 motors. Spyke can be used as a VOIP phone and webcam and is compatible with Skype's latest VoIP software - version 3.0 (PC).
With motion sensors Spyke can activate itself when something is happening. This is great for surveillance. Also a neat feature of the Meccano / Erector Spyke robot is the ability to returns back to his recharging station automatically when the battery gets low.
I am so getting one of these robots as soon as they become available. We know the pricing will be approximately 270 USD in the US and 250 € in Europe, but we still do not know when Spyke will go on sale.
