Sony announces a new GPS navigation device in their nav-u line dubbed NV-U1.
The Sony NV-U1 features a 4.3 inch wide-screen (16:9) display with 480×272px. Sony integrated a pressure sensor and accelerating sensor to provide positioning information when no GPS signal is available (e.g.: tunnels). Via the optional Sony NVA-VB6 VICS receiver the NV-U1 can work with current traffic information and avoid traffic congested areas.
Measurements of the Sony NV-U1 are 134×79×44mm.
The Sony NV-U1 will sell for about 60,000 Yen (~$500) in Japan starting on March 22nd. The VICS receiver NVA-VB6 goes for 20,000 yen (~$167).
More details about the NV-U1 can be found in this Sony press-release (Japanese).
