My first mobile phone when I moved to the United States in 1998 was a blue analog Startac with LED display. I actually loved it. Now Motorola releases a new Startac phone in Korea.
Motorola is marketing the StarTACIII with the retro trend of the 60s (take a close look at the models in the photo) in Korea. The original StarTAC hit the market in 1996 and was a milestone in portable mobile phone only weighing 88g.
The new StarTACIII features a 2.0 inch TFT QVGA LCD screen, GPS, electronic payment: "Moneta M-Bank", an electronic dictionary with over three hundred thousand words and a MP3 player.
Motorola developed StarTACIII exclusively for the Korean market.
The Motorola StarTACIII will be released in early March, and priced at 297,000 KRW. (~$315).
More details and photos on Beta News (Korean, English Google Translation) and in this Motorola press-release.
