Microsoft has announced today that they intent to open their Live online service up to PC users in May. This is the same exact service that has 6 million Xbox 360 users signed up. The exact launch date for the service is May 8.
That launch date is also the same day Halo 2 launches for PCs running Vista. Microsoft doesn’t say that PC gamers and Xbox 360 gamers will be able to play each other over Live with Halo 2. In June Microsoft has a game called Shadowrun set to launch that will be the first title to allow PC gamers and Xbox 360 gamers to play each other online. One account will allow a gamer to play on his Xbox and PC. I wonder if that means firing up your Xbox and completing a quest means that when you fire up the PC version you will be at the same place in the game allowing you to go between two different systems without loosing progress.
