The rumor that this week appeared on Digitimes (it made it even onto CNET) about a possible delay of the next Apple OS X release (Leopard) are dismissed by Apple via an analyst at Jupiter Research.
Jupiter Research analyst Michael Gartenberg writes on the Jupiter Research blog (via MacRumors) that he spoke to Apple and the release for Apple OS X 10.5 is still scheduled for Spring 2007.
Now they only open question of course remains what a Spring release date means.
Arstechnica argues that Leopard is not ready for an April release based on developer sources.
Apparently Leopard is not stable yet and it takes about 4 weeks to make the CDs.
The next big Apple event is the WWDC 2007 starting June 11th. Maybe we even have to wait for Leopard until then.
I do not mind to wait. I just got for the first time an Apple computer in my household. I got my wife a MacBook and i am really impressed with it. For a Microsoft Windows who switched from a Commodore to a PC over 20 years ago that is not something easy to say. I am actually more excited to see what Leopard will be like to work with than getting Windows Vista.
