More, more, more is the battle cry for storage manufacturers. A company called Mempile has a new storage technology that is set to make Blu-ray and HD DVD look positively measly when it comes to storage capacity.
The new technology, dubbed TeraDisc, can store up to 1TB of content on a single platter. It records and reads over 100 virtual layers on one disc and was recently demoed in Japan. This tech will initially launch with only 500GB of storage space, though the launch won’t happen until 2010 at the earliest. I guess this will be the storage medium we will see on the PS5, lets just hope Sony has the Blu-ray error on the PS3 fixed by then. Story and image via CrunchGear.
