AACS to go after sites publishing the leaked HD DVD Encryption Key

The AACS explores legal and technical options to go after sites that published the circulating HD DVD encryption key that launched the revolt on digg the other day.

The specific leaked key is not only on sites (700,000 sites by Google search counts), but also on T-Shirts. The key is only enabling to strip of DRM on some HD-DVDs and has since been revoked.
Michael Ayers, chair of the AACS business group, said that while he could not reveal the specific steps the group would be taking, it would be using both "legal and technical" steps to prevent the circumvention of copy protection.
