Yesterday Intel announced new tech for their line of notebook computers that included faster CPUs, better graphics and better wireless connections amongst other things. Intel says that more than 230 Intel Centrino duo and Intel Centrino Pro processor technology based machines are available from manufacturers, retailers and integrators.
The design gamut rages from whopping, fully loaded 17” screen beasts to portable systems weighing less than three pounds. "When we introduced Intel Centrino 4 years ago, Intel changed the computing landscape with our mobile innovations," said Mooly Eden, Intel vice president and general manager, Mobile Products Group. "Now, simply said, we have improved virtually all aspects of Intel-based notebooks, the most popular and fastest growing computing market segment in the world."
To go along with the new, faster and more energy efficient Intel Core Centrino Duo and Intel Centrino Pro processors is a new Intel 965 Express chipset using new Clear Video tech for HD video. Wireless network speeds now include Wireless-N bringing five times faster performance and twice the range of lesser wireless connection types.
Another new feature of the chipset is Intel Turbo Memory, which is an optional feature that allows access to frequently used applications twice as fast as normal systems along with speeding up boot-up by 20%, all while saving on power and increasing battery life. Via Intel
