Apple rumor site AppleInsider reports that it heard from respected sources that Apple is about to stop producing the Mac mini.

I just was at an Apple store yesterday in Munich, and the Mac minis are kept behind the register as they seem to be still in high demand. The person in front of me in line bought one as well.

The small form factor makes the Mac mini sexy. Apple did not put real power into those boxes that could still make them more interesting. Today most new LCD monitors have two inputs.
For many web developers it is still imperative to test on both platforms. To have a Mac mini, next to a PC is ideal for those who work mainly with Windows.
Let's see if Apple really closes the book on the Mac mini. I think Apple should not kill the Mac mini and instead update it.
