UK based Gibbs Technologies rolls into the U.S. with their cool amphibious vehicles.

The Gibbs Aquada car boat announced in 2003 will be sold in 2009 in the United States.
Gibbs Technologies forms three companies in the U.S. Gibbs Amphibians will market and sell the Aquada which can go 30mph on water.

Gibbs Sports Amphibians will sell the coolest jet ski on the planet the Gibbs Quadski. This jet ski converts into a all-terrain vehicle. Both Quadski and Aquada have the unique ability to transition from land-to-water or water-to-land in 5 seconds. The 3rd company is called Gibbs Military Amphibians. The name already indicates that this unit will sell amphibious vehicles to the military. Gibbs partnered with no other than Lockheed Martin to work on several concepts for the U.S. military. The company is still finalizing where the brick-and-mortar locations for the companies will be in the U.S.
The U.S. market is perfect for vehicles like this. I predict a great future for Gibbs Technologies in the U.S.

History of the Aquada:
The initial design work on the Aquada began in Detroit in 1997 with a team of more than 20 engineers. Product development later transferred to Coventry in the UK, where the company tapped into a unique blend of motorsports, aerospace and OEM engineering talent. More than one million man hours have gone into the development of the company’s technology.
In 2004, a Gibbs prototype HSA crossed the English Channel in a record-setting time of less than two hours. During tests in Europe and North America, prototype amphibians have traveled at speeds of more than 110 mph on land and 45 mph on water.
