PS3 Price Dropping by $100 on July 15th?

Daily Tech is reporting that a forum member has come by a flyer for Circuit City showing that the PS3 will be getting a $100 price cut on July 15 for he 60Gb model. That would put the price at $499 rather than the $599 the 60GB version sells for currently.
Rumors have been making the rounds that the price drop was coming to make the hardware more affordable and adopted by more gamers. Lending weight to this fact is another person claiming to be a product manager at another electronics reseller who claims to be able to confirm the $100 price cut isn’t merely at Circuit City.
This would also jibe with the time frame needed for Sony to announce the price drop at the E3 conference next week, which I will be covering on site. Couple the price drop with the current Blu-ray offer that allows those who buy a PS3 from July 1 to September 30 to get five free Blu-ray flicks and things may be looking up for Sony. Now if they can just get some really cool games out Ps3 owners will be in business. Via Daily Tech. See also this Reuters report where Sony boss says again no to PS3 price-cuts.
