The headphones user behind the head design and over the ear style for comfort and provide stereo sound. The rechargeable battery is good for up to 10 hours of continuous music playback.

A microphone is built in as well to allow you to use the Insignia Bluetooth Wireless Behind-the-Head Headphones for placing calls on compatible phones. In Use
The internal rechargeable battery is charged with an included AC adapter or via USB from your PC. Pairing the headset with my phone and the Insignia Pilot 4GB MP3 player was very easy to do. To put the Insignia Bluetooth Wireless Behind-the-Head Headphones in paring mode you simply hold the power button down and watch for the backlit logo to flash.

The design of the Insignia Bluetooth Wireless Behind-the-Head Headphones looks very much like all the other behind-the-head style wireless headphones on the market. The flat black color is attractive and grey rubberized inserts cover the controls. The controls themselves include volume up and down as well as track forward and back. The controls are very hard to use while the headphones are on your head.

The places you are supposed to press to operate each control are very close together and you can’t tell by touch which button you are pressing. In my testing that meant I had to remove them to see which control I was hitting or simply fumble around until I found the control I was looking for.

While the headphones aren’t heavy, the plastic pieces that sit on top of your ears lack padding of any sort and can get uncomfortable after a while and require repositioning. The foam covering the speakers themselves is thick enough for comfort with extended use and breathes well so the headphones don’t get hot at all.

What matters most on headphones is the sound quality and the Insignia Bluetooth Wireless Behind-the-Head Headphones sound great. They have respectable levels of bass and good mids and highs. When paired to a cell phone the person you are talking to can easily be understood in most environments. The mic built into the Insignia Bluetooth Wireless Behind-the-Head Headphones does a good job of picking up your voice, but does pick up room sounds at times. You can pair the headphone to two devices at the same time allowing you to use the Insignia Bluetooth Wireless Behind-the-Head Headphones with your cell phone and your MP3 player.
