Features & Specifications
The Razer Piranha headphones have a single sided cable to help reduce clutter while in use. The cable is braided making it more durable than simple plastic wires. Razer designed the Razer Piranha headphones to support Internet telephony as well as gaming. Inline controls on the cable allow you to control volume and mute the microphone. The mic itself is a swiveling design with noise filtering technology for clearer communications. Blue lighting on the ear cups is powered by one USB connection.

Setup & Use
Connecting the Razer Piranha headphones is easy to do with the only connections being the USB plug for powering the lighting on the headphones and standard 3.5mm minijack for plugging into the headphone in and mic out on your computer. The ear cups are small in diameter making these headphone son on the ear design rather than an around the ear design. They are well padded making it comfortable to wear the Razer Piranha headphones for long gaming sessions. The ear cushions are covered in a breathable microfiber fabric that keeps heat from building up.

The size of the ear cups is a bit odd to me. They are larger than typical on-ear style headphones, yet slightly smaller in diameter than typical around the ear style headphones. The Razer Piranha headphones are not uncomfortable to wear they just felt a bit like I had around the ear style headphones positioned badly until I got used to them.

Gaming with the Razer Piranha headphones is great. The headphones provide exceptional levels of bass, something that is hard to find in headphones. Bass is especially important to many gamers allowing you to hear and feel explosions in game. Music fans will also find the levels of bass from the Razer Piranha headphones impressive. Mids and highs are also reproduced well in music and games with the Razer Piranha headphones.

Typically, headphone cables tend to be a bit short for my tastes. I have a large desk and my computer is farther away than a six-foot cable can comfortably reaches. The cable on the Razer Piranha headphones is very long; I would put the length closer to ten feet. This is perfect for connecting to machines further away from your desk and allows you the length you need to route the headphone cable out of sight.

The adjustable mic is easy to use and can be muted when you aren’t using it. The mic works well and isn’t prone to picking up other noises in the room. When playing online games the mic allowed other gamers to hear me clearly without any distortion. The unidirectional design meant that other gamers didn’t hear my kids playing with Christmas gifts in the other room while we fragged away.
