The SeeJacket Crystal is an interesting case that protects the iPhone on all sides including the touchscreen, which is subject to scratches and breakage. The SeeJacket Crystal has a plastic covering that goes over the front of the touchscreen to protect it. The screen coating isn’t as strong as the heavy acrylic of the case body.

That means that the normal operation of the touchscreen on the iPhone is maintained. The controls on the iPhone operated without any issues in my testing while using the SeeJacket Crystal with its touchscreen covering.

In Use
The front of the SeeJacket Crystal I tested had a black surround that closely matches the look of the iPhone without the case. Those looking for a different look for their iPhone can get the SeeJacket Crystal with a silver surround as well.

When I tested the Belkin case recently for my iPhone I found that the case didn’t fit snugly enough and allowed the iPhone to move around inside the case a bit, which lead to scratches on the bezel of the phone.

The SeeJacket Crystal fits very snugly and the phone doesn’t appear to move around inside the phone enough to cause scratches. The camera lens has a cut out to allow normal operation of the camera. All the controls for the iPhone on the top and sides are also accessible.

The only bad part about the SeeJacket Crystal will be for those like me who like to charge with the iPhone dock rather than the USB cable alone. The SeeJacket Crystal case is too thick to allow the iPhone to dock. That will also mean you will need to remove the case to use the iPhone in any accessory docks as well.

The case is easy to remove by simply unsnapping the top of the case and sliding it off. The only other minor quibble I had with the case was that the edges on the front of the case are a bit rough and was uncomfortable against my ear when talking.
