I have tried different maze games on my iPhone before and have found them all to be seriously lacking in the controls department. It's common for maze games to have jerky controls that are not sensitive enough making for accurate movement using the built-in accelerometers of the iPhone.

The game we are looking at today is nothing like the other maze games I have tried. Codify AB is the developer of Labyrinth Lite Edition. The game was made available in the App Store last Tuesday and it is a must download application.

If you wandered through the mall looking at the stores that have offbeat toys and gift items as a kid, you probably came across the maze games that were made of wood and used a big metal ball bearing to navigate the maze. The maze itself would have wood pieces and holes arrayed around and the goal was to use knobs on the sides of the maze to get the ball to a specific hole for the win.

Codify AB has very accurately rendered such a game for the iPhone with Labyrinth Lite Edition. The Lite Edition of the game has ten levels, and I can only assume that at some point a paid version will be available with more levels.

Gameplay
To control the ball you tilt the iPhone in all directions. The controls are simply fantastic and are so accurate that you can place the ball with ease on the screen. The settings menu of the game has a spot for calibrating the game to the sensors in the iPhone. You set the iPhone on a flat surface, press calibrate, and you are done.

Labyrinth Lite Edition is a very fun game that any iPhone user should download, its perfect for killing time or keeping the kids occupied while waiting at a restaurant or other place.
