Features & Specifications
The Girl Tech Stylin' Studio includes software on a CDROM that installs to a laptop of desktop PC. The tablet is pink and purple and allows users to draw makeup and other features onto their own picture. The images are taken via a built-in webcam on the pad that connects to your PC via USB. An attached pen allows girls to draw directly on the pad.

In Use
The software used by the Girl Tech Stylin' Studio has very low hardware requirements so it will work on even low-end notebook and desktop computers. Getting the personal picture into the computer to start the digital makeover is easy thanks to the built-in camera on the pad. Under the camera is a mirror that makes it easy to align the picture for best results.

Once your girl gets their picture into the software they can add makeup, new hairstyles, clothes, accessories and more onto their picture. If your little girl wants to use makeup, but you don’t want them to the Girl Tech Stylin' Studio could be a good compromise. Once the digital makeover is complete backgrounds can be added and the finished card can be emailed to friends and family. Computers attached to a computer can also print the finished image.

Using the Girl Tech Stylin' Studio is easy enough for kids with computer experience. Younger kids will need help from an adult. My daughter needed some help, though she is under the age requirements for the toy. She did like adding clothes and jewelry to her picture and adding new hairstyles.

I found the pad to be inaccurate and often it would not move the cursor on screen to the point it needed to be. The good news is that the pad is mostly not necessary. If your computer has a webcam built-in or attached, its camera can be used instead of the drawing pad camera. On my notebook the built-in webcam was automatically selected by default.

The inaccuracy of the drawing pad can be forgiven some as well because the mouse or track pad on your computer is much easier to use than the pen and pad the Girl Tech Stylin' Studio includes. The other issue is that you need to take the picture on a solid background or the digital makeover isn’t as clear as it could be.
