Features & Specifications
The Nerf N-Strike Vulcan EBF-25 is the largest fully automatic machine gun from Nerf. The beast is powered by six D cell batteries and shoots darts from a belt. The belt holds 25 darts and will fire at up to three darts per second. You don’t have to be a math whiz to realize that means belts will run dry fast. The gun can be carried on the hip for firing Terminator style and a tripod is included for making a Nerf machine gun nest.

In Use
The Nerf N-Strike Vulcan EBF-25 retails for about $45. That might seem expensive for a Nerf gun, but the satisfied look on your kids face as they heft the most awesome weapon to ever fire a rain of foam at the enemy is worth the price of admission alone.

The size of the weapon is impressive, but the thing is fairly heavy, especially if a younger kid is trying to carry it around. This is where the tri-pod comes in by supporting the weight of the gun. Fast firing is certainly cool, but the belts take a bit to reload. That means if you miss a shot and run dry, you are going to get taken out.

Some of the kids in my neighborhood play Nerf wars with single action pistols. The look of pride on my sons face when he walked outside with a freaking machine gun was priceless. The neighborhood bully suddenly realized he was no longer the alpha kid in Nerf wars.

The Nerf N-Strike Vulcan EBF-25 takes a bit to spool up when you pull the trigger, but once it gets going its tons of fun. We found that the device jams frequently, and the more the darts are used, the worse jams tend to get. Jams are easy enough to clear, but after a while, they can get very tedious.

Trust me if you are getting one of these for your kid, get extra darts and belts, it will be much more fun to play with. The only other potential drawback to the Nerf N-Strike Vulcan EBF-25 is that it is large. Be sure you have the room to store the thing before you buy.
