Features & Specifications
The Earpollution Custom Flow ear buds have three parts that you can customize via a web application that not only shows you the color and artwork choices, but also gives you a large and realistic depiction in full color of what you redesign will look like when complete. The entire design process took about 10 minutes to complete and was easy to do. I chose a set of ear buds with a black base, red rim, and flame artwork that turned out to be cool looking. There are so many customization options that you could spend hours perfecting a design if you want and there are colors and artwork suitable for men, women, and kids.

In Use
The Earpollution Custom Flow earphones look cool, but have a much larger section that is outside the ear than some other earphones I have seen. This is mostly to be able to show off the custom artwork you chose and doesn't add significantly to the weight of the product.

The part of the earphones that go in your ear is large and round. Some high-end earphones come with different size tips made of silicon for comfort, but the Earpollution Custom Flow earphones do not. These earphones offer a basic round speaker that sits in the ear and looks much like the stock iPod earphones. The Earpollution Custom Flow earphones are not uncomfortable, but I have certainly tired sets that are more comfortable in the past. The design isn't intended to block outside sounds either.

The sound quality from the Earpollution Custom Flow is good; highs are decent as are mids and bass. I like bass to my music and would have appreciated a punchier bottom end, but at the $19.99 price, the Earpollution Custom Flow sell for the sound quality is hard to beat.

The price and customizable nature of the Earpollution Custom Flow is where the value in these earphones lies. You can get headsets with better sound and a more comfortable fit, but you will pay more than twice as much for them. If what you are looking for is a cheap, good-looking set of earphones with better than stock sound quality, the Earpollution Custom Flow is perfect for you.

The only issue I had with the Earpollution Custom Flow earphones in testing was that the plug end was too fat for my iPhone. The earphones were not able to plug into the recessed iPhone earphone slot. If the connector were just a tiny bit smaller in diameter, things would have been fine. As they are, I can get sound form the iPhone by lightly holding the connector in place, but when I let go sound is lost in one of both earpieces. Shaving a millimeter off the circumference of the plug end would remedy this issue.
