Amazon has started shipping the new stylish Asus Eee Seashell 1008HA netbook yesterday. At this point I cannot say if the 1008HA started shipping directly from Amazon or the 3rd party vendors offering it on Amazon. Our records show that people who pre-ordered the 1008HA have it coming their way.

Asus Eee 1008HA Netbook Review
The new stylish Asus Eee 1008HA netbook is available for pre-order on Amazon.com for $429.99. We already featured a 1008HA review from the UK. Now Engadget also got their hands on a Asus 10008HA Seashell and published a review.
Quote from the review: "In terms of performance, the Seashell operates in much the same manner as other, comparable netbooks. It's more than capable of handling everyday tasks -- browsing the internet, streaming video, editing documents, and listening to the Tegan and Sara channel on Pandora radio -- but it's by no means significantly more robust than other portables. As we mentioned, it boots up faster than our Mini 1000, and it also opens documents like Microsoft Word files a bit faster, which is nice as the lag can be grating.

Asus Eee 1008HA Bios Upgrade available to enhance Wi-Fi
The Asus Eee 1008HA Seashell netbook is still not shipping in the United States, but a new Bios update is already available. Asus posted a brief announcement on their site saying that the 1008HA Bios update is enhancing Wi-Fi performance.
Either the 1008HA ships with a Wi-Fi problem or 802.11n was not supported. Asus is not going into the details on what the upgrade fixes specifically. In either case keep this in mind when you get your 1008HA and upgrade your Bios that you can download here.

Asus Eee 1008HA available for pre-order on Amazon
The new stylish Asus Eee PC 1008HA aka Seashell is finally available on Amazon.com. There is no shipping date yet, but you can pre-order the Asus Eee 1008HA for $409.99 in either Pearl White or Pearl Black.
The Asus Eee PC 10008HA is only 1 inch thick and weighs 1.1kg, Eee PC netbook with new stylish looks some compare to the MacBook Air.
The new Asus Eee PC 1008HA features a 10 inch screen, 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N280 Processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB Hard Drive, 10GB Eee Storage, Bluetooth, Windows XP Home, 9.5 Hour Battery Life, 92%-scaled keyboard, multi-touch touchpad, instant key (for quick access to Wi-Fi and the touchpad lock), Digital Array Microphone, 1.3 megapixel camera, and SRS Sound.

Asus Eee 1005HA Netbook joins Eee 1008HA
Two new Asus Eee PC netbooks appear on French site blogeee that share the new design of the Asus Eee PC 1008HA. The new netbooks are the Eee PC 1005HA-H and Eee PC 1005HA-M.
The Eee PC 1005HA-H shares almost all features (Atom N280, 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM, 10.1 inch LED Screen) of the Eee PC 1008HA, but has a bigger battery that at 10 hours offers double the battery life of the 1008HA. This comes at a price as the 1005HA has the same looks but is actually quite a lot thicker and heavier than the 1008HA.

Asus Eee 1008HA Seashell Review
The new Asus Eee PC 1008HA is not shipping yet in the United States, but it is offered already in the UK. Bit-Tech has already gotten their hands on the Asus Eee Seashell and published an in-depth review of the new Asus Eee netbook with the MacBook Air inspired Asus Eee 1008HA.
Quote from the review: "The Eee PC 1008HA is a breath of fresh air in a market that has lacked a bit of spice recently. While there are a few design flaws, many are forgivable. The 1008HA looks stunning and it’s sure to turn a few heads when you pull it out of your laptop bag on the train. New Asus Eee 1008HA Netbook compared with Eee 1000HE
Asus pulled up the curtain on its sleek looking new Netbook, Asus Eee PC 1008HA in March 2009. Asus terms Eee PC 1008HA as the most stylish and elegant looking of all the netbooks it has ever launched in the Eee PC series so far. Is the 1008HA "Seashell" better than other Eee PCs introduced until now? Is it worth the wait or can you just get the currently #1 selling netbook on Amazon: Asus Eee 1000HE.
The Asus Eee 1008HA is available for pre-order in the UK, but the shipping date given on Amazon UK (Price: £379.50
~$570) is vague 1-2 month. Japanese notebook exporter Dynamism (Price: $449.99) lists the 1008HA with a shipping date of May 25th. I assume that the new Asus 1008HA will be shipping in the US still this month. Read on to see if the 1008HA is worth holding off your netbook purchase for a couple weeks.

Asus unveiled the Eee PC Shell rumored new Eee PC 1008HA at the CeBIT 2009.
The Asus Eee PC 10008HA is 1 inch thick and weighs 1.1kg, Eee PC netbook with new stylish looks.
The new Asus Eee PC 1008HA offers a 92%-scaled keyboard, multi-touch touchpad, instant key (for quick access to Wi-Fi and the touchpad lock), Digital Array Microphone, 1.3 megapixel camera, and comprehensive wireless connectivity options (802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3.75G and WiMAX).
Asus also integrated SRS Premium Sound technology into the Eee PC 10008HA.
