xpPhone Hits Computex, Turns Heads, Raises Questions
When we first heard about DualCor's 'xpPhone' all we got were some vague details about a hybrid "smartphone/netbook" that could run either as an XP-loaded tablet or a traditional 3G smartphone. The first design images to leak made the xpPhone look a little like a big wireless router with a screen.
Now the xpPhone has hit Computex, and we can finally get a look at this bizarre hybrid device. It looks sort of like a huge Gphone, which is pretty much par for the course with mobile Internet devices (MIDs). The xpPhone has a sliding QWERTY keyboard and a 4.8" touchscreen, and it comes packed with more hardware than seems entirely possible. It's got 1GB of RAM, an AMD CPU, a 64GB SSD, WiFi, GSM support, and a 1.3 megapixel camera.

InnoDisk Brings 128GB nanoSSD to Computex
Data storage takes another step forward today with newcomer InnoDisk's latest offering to the Computex convention. Last year InnoDisk brought out a 2.5 inch 128GB SATA 10000 SSD card. Now they've outdone themselves with the unbelievably tiny 128 GB nanoSSD card. As you can see from the picture, it's drastically tinier than its predecessors while maintaining the same data storage capacity.
Looking at their SSD evolution display is like watching technology move forward right before your eyes. It's a little bit mind-boggling how fast things are moving these days. It won't be too long before you'll be seeing an even smaller version of this card in stores, ready to be stuck into all manner of netbooks, mobile phones, and cameras.

Pixel Qi at Computex: E-Ink meets LCD
E-Ink is awesome, the Kindle DX is proof enough of that. But it's also monochromatic, and that's something that won't really fly on a laptop. Unless you build a laptop that can switch freely between an E-Ink and LCD display, that is. That's just what Pixel Qi did with their new 3qi display laptop, currently on display at Computex.
In addition to having the coolest screen in the business, Pixel Qi claims that their new notebooks will be capable of holding an astounding 40 hour charge. We could be seeing laptops with the new 3qi display before 2010, and from everything we've heard these new 'magic' laptops should weigh in on the low side of the cost spectrum.
