Overview
The Sony Cybershot DSC-T11 is
technically the same as the Sony
DSC-T1 we reviewed earlier this year. Sony managed to create
an even thinner casing for the Sony DSC-T11. The DSC-T11 is 17.3mm
thick, where the Sony DSC-T1 is 21mm. Sony achieved this through
removing the attached lens shield - big trick. The DSC-T1 case is
also 17.3mm thin without the shield. The Cybershot DSC-T11 has a different
styling overall. It has a pearl-white glossy color and a chrome
buckle on the left side for attaching the wrist strap. It is a more
fashion oriented look compared to the DSC-T1, which is featuring a more
techie look. It weighs 6g more with battery and strap then the
DSC-T1. The case of the DSC-T11 is also about 10mm longer.

The Sony Cybershot DSC-T11 measures 102.5 x 60 x
17.3mm. It weighs 161g without battery. Because technically it is
totally the same as the DSC-T1 please refer to our in-depth
review of the Sony DSC-T1.
Several people emailed me and asked about how the lens is protected
on the DSC-T11. The DSC-T11 comes with a soft pouch that protects
the whole camera. See the photo below. The pearl-white coating is
also more sensitive as the coating on the silver DSC-T1 in my
opinion.

| Sony
DSC-T11 does not have a sliding lens cover. Sony
bundles a soft pouch with the camera to protect the lens and
the camera. |

the Sony DSC-T1 to show the differences.
Conclusion
The Sony
Cybershot DSC-T11 is an extremely good looking
digital camera featuring 5 mega-pixel power and tons of features. Is
it worth paying more for the Sony DSC-T11 than for the Sony DSC-T1?
This is a question everybody needs to decide for themselves. If you
want to own a unique Sony Camera or want to give a special gift to
someone the DSC-T11 is not to beat. If you just want a
state-of-the-art 5MP digital camera or you like the moving lens
shield (addictive like the Zippo) then the Sony DSC-T1 is for you.
